2020 Wasn’t Funny
This was my largest comics collaboration to date, boasting 74 pages from four different artists (and one SECRET contributor!). A full narrative dressed in a sort of “stylistic anthology,” each chunk of the comic is partitioned to suit each artists’ individual strengths. Dania’s inventive paneling shines midway through. Miranda’s coloring and inking is apparent throughout the story. In fact, if it weren’t for her sketch of the protagonist on a piece of scrap paper, this webpage wouldn’t exist! Peter’s simple approach was initially panned when his section was digitally published, but during the climax he brought sound waves to life with his psychedelic scribbles dancing through the panels. Each artist had thumbnailed in their own style, and as editor I chose to replicate them during the inking process. The result is a collective grievance packed with pretty pictures, from a platoon of entry-level workers fed up with the way the world is headed. If you read any comic on this website, make it this one.
