BrickHaven Brewing Company

Located in Grand Ledge, Michigan, BrickHaven Brewing Company provides top-class craft beers in a relaxing environment. Originally a church, town hall, and police station, the entire building has been reconstituted into a bustling brewhouse by the owners (and brothers) Ed and Ben Huston. Ed had been the one to approach me for a trademark, with the intentions of using it on merchandise, social media, and internal documents.

This opportunity was my first foray into design work for the private sector.

Official BrickHaven Trademark

The final design combines iconography from around the property grounds. A lot of research was required to push the mark to a place the clients were satisfied with.

BrickHaven Glassware

Ed sent me an image of the glassware as soon as they were delivered to the brewery. The mark appears on growlers, wine, and beer glasses.

This framed omega is a remnant of the building’s time as a church.

On-Site Iconography

The ornamental flairs that enclose the emblem were lifted directly into the final design. Even the tendrils sprouting from the bottom of the omega were repeated in the hop icon in the corner of the trademark.
